Community Engagement Advisory Council – Resident Leadership Group
The Community Engagement Advisory Council named the La Habra Action Council (LAC). LAC is group of community residents learning leadership skills under policy and advocacy that address issues surrounding the community. This group is currently working on several projects and is learning how to advocate for healthy communities and tackle issues that may prevent proper nutrition and physical activity in their community. If you are looking to help your community, call us and attend one of LAC’s meetings to learn more about ways to be involved!

We welcome youth volunteers to help around the Family Resource Center. If you are looking for a place to help, a way to be involved in your community or looking to get volunteer hours, fill out the volunteer form or give us a call! We will find the best way for you to be involved at our center.
Volunteer Events
The La Habra Family Resource Center hosts many yearly events and we welcome volunteers! Below is some information on two of our events, if you want to volunteer fill out our volunteer form.
Eggstravaganza Family Health Fair
Our annual Family Health Fair invites the community to get together and take a look at an array of resources to better help them. We invite local organizations to host a booth and inform the families who attend about their services in a fun and interactive way. It is a fun event where our families can gain access to many organizations and gain knowledge on all the services available to them to better help their family. Our Family Health Fair is a grand event and we welcome the help of volunteers to make it a success!
Adopt-a-Family Program
Every December we hold an Adopt-a-Family Program where we invite sponsors/donors to adopt one of our FRC families that are participating in our services and demonstrating great work. In the Adopt-a-Family Program, families are selected by our case managers, and the selection process is not only based on a financial need, but also based the parents’ active participation in services by following their case plan recommendations to improve their family situation.
Adopt-a-Family means that you agree to sponsor the entire family by purchasing gifts for the mother, father, and each child in the family. Contact our center for more information or if you are interested in adopting a family, your help will bring some much needed smiles during the holidays!
